Communication between S5 to ET200M using IM310 & IM312

Ams Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Dear Sir we need information about communication between S5 CPU 925/926/927 with ET200M using IM310 and IM312 In one of the project we have to upgrade from s5 to s7 system but this is shutdown job so that we can not changes all plc in one phase however we have decide to change one by one but we are in doubt if we change one s5 module to ET200M then how can we retain the system for working, how can we communicate s5 cpu to ET200M using exsting IM (IM310 & IM312) i have attahced orginal configuration of s5 system. in that configuration in first cubilcal there is S5 CPU and S5 RIO and 2nd 3rd and 4th cubilcal there is s5 RIO we have to change the RIO with ET200M keeping CPU as it is. kindly letme know how can ET200M communicate with S5 systme considering same IM310 and IM312. we are waiting from hearing you. rosi Posts: 23 Rating: (3)	Dear Ams, ET200M is a DP-Slave, which means you will need in the S5 a DP-Master and for example ComProfibus. The order no. is not sufficient to give more help. It seems to be the very old S5-150S/150U please refer also to http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/4062942 You will need the manual for the existing S5 and there you will find if DP-Master is supported and in Spares On Web - Version 3.0 https://b2b-extern.automation.siemens.com/spares_on_web(bD1kZSZjPTA4MCZkPW1pbg==)/default.htm?sap-language=ENyou can check the availiability of th DP-Master. rosi Posts: 23 Rating: (3)	Dear Ams , The mentioned IM 310 / 312 are for connecting central rack with extension rack are are nor DP-Master. Please refer also to: SIMATIC S5-S7 Migration Support As before you will nees a DP-Master for the S5. As TIBI68recommended: Better to excahnge the S5 complete to S7. Regards

So we set up a seperate new paneland transferred single I/O signals from old to new panel. Unbelievable huge effort, but possible! Could be a solution for you too. Regards.

But if you (e.g.) have only 8 hours every day shutdown time then you must do it step by step. Maybe he has the extra S5-hardware in stock. I do not want that he does it so I only show this specialway as an alternative.
