SYSTEM: S7 400, IM 460-0 (SENDER), IM 461-0 (RECEIVER) PROBLEM: S7 400 COMMUNICATED WITH EXPANSION IO SITUATED ON EXPANSION RACK THROUGH IM 460-0 INSERTED ON CENTRAL RACK AND IM 461-0 INSERTED ON EXPANSION RACK THE PROBLEM IS THAT EXTERNAL FAULT APPERARED ON BOTH SENDER IM AND RECEIVER IM. WE CHECKED HEALTHINESS OF BOTH IM'S AND CABLE BETWEEN TWO IM'S IT WAS FOUND OK. MODULE INFORMATION SHOWS MODULE PARAMETER ASSINMENT ERRORS FOR RECEIVER IM, CONFIGURED AND ACTUAL MODULES ARE DIFFERNT SO, WE ALSO CHECKED MLFB NO'S OF BOTH CONFIGURED AND ACTUAL MODULE IT ALSO FOUND OK. Hello, as first - download all the OB8x, OB121 and OB122, the CPU should at least start to RUN mode. Check the conditions for these expansion racks, like the terminator at the last receiver (6ES7461-0AA00-7AA0) and used cabling (6ES7468-1...). And as addition, there is the manual for S7-400 PLC modules. Regards Sydney |

The rotary switch is on the IM in expansion unit. After changing , probably you need a power up of the PLC. Switch off and Switch on the power supply |
