Communication to S7315-2DP

donny Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I have PCS 7 V6.1 and wish to communicate with an S7315-2DP PLC outside the Multiproject. The S7 300 project exists in Simatic Manager whilst the V6.1 ES uses SM Ver 5.3. What is the simplest way to configure communication between the two stations? Is it possible to convert the SM 5.4 project to work in the V6.1 Multiproject? I plan to upgrade to V7.1 SP3 and wish to know if the IPC547D (Core I7 processor) will be suitable for use as an OS Server. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Hi, This piece of hardware was released a few month ago, it should work fine for you. According the manual it is suited for: - Process and visualization applications - Industrial image processing - Quality assurance/monitoring tasks - Measurement, control and rule-based tasks - Data acquisition and management So no problem with this IPC as OS server. Downgrading your SM 5.4 project to 5.3 is not supoorted. Even if it would work anyhow I wouldn't recommend it. You can create a new project inside our multiproject and insert the HW and the programm into it (I'm not sure if it works without warnings, regarding version of SIMATIC manager).
