Comparing words from a DB

I am somewhat new to Siemens. I am converting old TI code into S7. I am currently having trouble with a few things in SCL.

I am getting the error "Invalid types of addresses" when I try to compare the numbers I got from a DB.

An example of the code:
FOR INDEX := 2 TO 200 BY 2 DO

DB52.DBW[116] := DB60.DBW[INDEX];

IF DB52.DW[116] > DB52.DW[40] THEN

DB52.DW[40] := DB52.DBW[116];

END_IF;

END_FOR;

The data types in the DB are all INT, but it seems scl is treating them as words. Since the they are already stored as INT, using WORD_TO_INT will not work because that would swap the bytes. I cannot test this because I do not have the simulator or the PLC yet. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to get around this?

Not ....IF DB52.DW[116] > DB52.DW[40] THEN

DB52.DW[40] := DB52.DBW[116];

Changing that gives me the same results as before.

This is currently what it looks like. There is more that needs to be added, but I didn't see any point to continuing until I know what I did wrong here since I need to do more of the same.

If I comment out the if then statement, it will compile. It seems dislike the address types (which are int in the db).
