Hi, The different communication possibilitys are so huge that there is not one list with all possibilitys. On the other hand when you want to know which communication you can do, you may find it on the homepage from A&D for sure. Also is there on the SIMATIC NET CD a readme where you can find a lot of information. SIMATIC NET CD ROM PC/Software Edition 2005always search on the newest to find the newest readme. There is also a handbook where all kind of communication is given (but still not all). Communication with SIMATIC Searching on the phrase "Communication with SIMATIC" will give you a lot of information. Normal there is a PC with a certain possibility to communicate. When that is not so, the easiest (and best) method is working with S7-Communication with on top a OPC-Server or a Application to couple with windows-API-calls. You may work from the S7CPU's with events (the CPU is knowing when there is changed something) and for instance with OPC A&E (OPCAlarm and Events) so that there is the minimum on communication. When working with Report System Error and PDIAG then there are only events from the CPU and this information is with a timestamp directly communicate to a OPC A&E server where you can pick up the information (with a timestamp) very easily. But normally you don't have a ideal situation with all SIMATIC equipment and you have to do a lot of work by your self, thats life, hard working to get it the way the customer it want, but not on the way that is the easiest. |
I hope that the answer will help, if you have still questions, don't hesitate to ask me. |
