comunication whit matlab

First of all what network will you want to use to connect with PC? MPI/Profibus/Ethernet.

There are many possibilities.

1. Use SimaticNET OPC server (which can communicate to S7 PLC on any of these networks) and then use OPC tool box for matlab. http://www.mathworks.com/products/opc/
2. If you use a ethernet CPon PLC that supports open TCP, you can writeyour own send receive communication.
3. You can use SimaticNet OPC server andIndustrial Data bridge. Ind.DBwill allow you to link OPC taqs (read, data point in PLC) and SQL database.
4. You can use SimaticNet OPC server and write your own VB program to access PLC data thru OPC server and send it to SQL database.

These are few possibilities that come to mind. I am sure there are more. I think 2nd and 4th options are more cost effective. Let us know if you need more info any of the particular option.
