Configuration of communication between S7-300 with relay protection?

Could you show me detail about configuration of communication between S7-300 with Siemens relay protection or please send to me a example about it. Many thank!

We need a bit mor einformation to help you out properly:

- which relay will you be using?

- what software (DIGSI 4, DIGSI 5) ?

- what communication interfce do you have installed on the relay?

- what communciation link are you planning to use?

As an example, let's say you have a 7SJ80, with a RS-485 (Profibus-DP) interface installed in the rear panel of the relay, and you are usoing DIGSI 4 to configure the relay.

Many thanks for your help. It 's very useful to me 

-  I'm using :  Siprotec 7UT61. And software is DIGSI 5

-  Communication interface which I have installed on the relay is RS-485 (Profibus - DP)

-  And I wanna link communication Profibus - DP between PLC S7- 300 CPU 315 -2DP and relay Siprotec 7UT61. 

So Do I need another module ( as CP - Communication Module ) to do it?

Hello huyhung;

The CPU can act as a Profibus-DP master over its integrated profibus interface, and the relay can operate as a Profibus-DP slave, with the interface you have installled. I do not this you need any other module to establish communications (except Profibus cable and connectors).

Of course you need to look at the available documentation for your relay.s communications. You will find the 7UT61x relays in the Siprotec 4 downloads suggested earlier. Drilling down in the directories for that relay, you will locate the files for Profibus-DP comms, and there you can search for the GSD file (required to insert the relay in the Profibus configurator software in HWConfig) and the manual for the relay. I do not see mapping files, so there might just be only one possibility for data exchange over Profibus, setup through the GSD file.

Hi dchartier,

I'm trying setup both softwares : Simatic step 7 manager V5.5 and DIGSI V4.91 but when I start DIGSI software, step 7 also runs. I dont know why? So Have setup  2 software together and Is shotcut on the Desktop the same?

I remember working with Digsi 4.x and having to install Step 7 on anoyher partition, it was impossible to install bith concurrently on the same OS.

 Digsi 5 can be installed alongside Step 7 v5.5, as you can read in the Product Information document:

STEP7 V5.x

The usage of DIGSI 5 V7.30 and the automation software STEP 7 V5.x on the same system is possible without restrictions.
