Hi, I need to fetch data from Moxa MB3480 (Modbus TCP communication enabled) to my SCADA. They system architecture is attached for your ref. Can anyone suggest, is it possible to configure these Moxa devices through Scalance X204 switches in SCADA, Wincc V7.0. Does any additional pack needed for this in Wincc. Referring to some threads in forum, i got to know that Modbus TCP is internally available in Wincc V7.0, but is it possible to configure Moxa devices in SCADA connected through Scalance X204 switches. (Pls refer architecture). Will this configuration work?

Hello dinecs, there is no additional pack needed for WinCC. Beginning with WinCC V7.0 it contains a Modbus driver. Please alsotake a look at this: Configuring the "Modbus TCPIP" Channel
Port Addresses for Coupling via Ethernet I assume that it is possible to use a scalance, but I can't tell you wether scalance you use can be configured in a ring, etc. You should try to check this point in documentation of scalance. Does this help to clear your open questions? If not, please let me know. Best regards Bizur |
