Connect IO-Link Master for mqtt connection

Hi,

I want to connect an IO-Link Master on my IOT2050 and read sensor data over mqtt. But I currently have problems with this.

The gateway is connected over Ethernet with port P1 to my windows computer:

P1 IP-Adress: 192.168.200.1

Windows IP-Address: 192.168.200.202

That works fine, as always. Now I also connected the IO-Link Master on the other Port (P2) 

Master IP-Address static: 192.168.200.201.

P2 IP-Address static: 192.168.200.5

I can also connect to the mosquitto broker from node-red. But I can't see the data, which should have been sent by the IO-Link Master.

Note: On windows, the mosquitto broker needs to be version 1.6.9 because of security settings. Could that be the case for the Linux system too?

In you're issue:

Have you try to enable ipv4.forwarding (P1 / P2 have not relation) ?

nano /"etc/sysctl.conf"

And uncomment the line containing:

net.ipv4.ip_forward=1

 For me a better solution is either to separe network or either switch all on the same P1 or P2.

For me you need only 1 broker MQTT on IOT. Windows is client with for exemple MQTT Explorer (test). So version is not important.

Yes, the connection looks like in your graph.
I did the change you mentioned but still no connection, unfortunately.

When I type "nmcli" it shows that both ports are connected. I can ping my PC 192.168.200.202 but not to the IO-Link Master 192.168.200.201.

Attached are some outputs from IOT2050.

Strange is, that I can't establish an SSH connection after rebooting when both devices are connected to the ports. Only after disconnecting the ethernet cable from P2, I can connect with my PC to the IOT2050.

Even stranger is, that when I then plug in the IO-Master again, it connects for one moment with the Broker and I even see a message on MQTT Explorer. But after that, no more messages are sent.

I hope this helps to find the problem. I don't know where the reason could be.

I think it's not good to have same IP on P1 / P2.
IOT2050 is not a switch so I think do you iptables rules to create transfer with P1 <-> P2.

I recommend creating 2 network.

Master IO link -> Pub in 192.168.201.1 P2 IOT
PC -> Sub in 192.168.200.1 P1 IOT

If you want to use 1 network use a switch in P1 with all equipment.

I did it like the shema pic.

So P1 and P2 same IP Address and PC and IO-Link same IP Address.

I can connect to my PC but still not to my IO-Link Master.

I can't imagine that this is the problem anyway since I have another IOT2050 where P2 is connected to a PLC and P1 to my PC and there it works with different IP addresses.

for anyone interested:

I fixed it. The problem was, that both PC and IO-Link Master were in the same subnet.

I changed P1 from 192.168.200.1 to 192.168.201.1 and my PC to 192.168.201.202. IO-Link stayed the same.

Now everything works fine.
