Hello Tomy; The easiest way to connect one S7-200 master to a few S7-200 slaves is through a PPI network, using NETR and NETW instructions, and using Profibus cable and connectors. You can also use Freeport comms to setup your master-slave connections (look in the Tips and Tricks webpage, below). Note that the RS-485 ports of the S7-200 are non-isolated, so they are limited to a max. 50 m distance. Repeaters can be used to extend the PPI network by 1000m, but only if there are no PPI nodes between them; if there arePPI nodes, they can extend only a further 50 m(see the System manual). Speeds for PPI can be 9,6 kB, 19.2 kB or 187,5 kB. Speeds for freeport can go from 9,6 kB to 115,2 kB. NETR and NETW instructions are described in the chapter on the S7-200 instruction set. This is very well described in the S7-200 System manual, Network communications chapter. You can find many tips on S7-200 communications on the Tips and Tricks webpage, here: https://www.sea.siemens.com/us/Products/Automation/Micro-Automation/support/Tips_and_Tricks/S7-200/Pages/ExampleProjects-S7-200.aspx Tip 27 shows how to use freeport mode to connect S7-200 PLCs in a network. Tip 42 has a lot of technical data on PPI networks. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
