Converting S7-400 program to WinAC

MFeddema Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, In our company we have three different control systems that can be connected to a process for operator training purposes. Which system is actively controlling depends on a LOGO hardware piece. Currently the Siemens control systemPSC 7 can connect to both the realprocess this way but also to a simulation of the process ( with simulated valve failures etc) by switching between real I/O and fictional opc connected tags, with use of simatic net opc server. This is done by added extra blocks in every cfconly letting values in and out depending on the real/sim state of both the actuators and sensors. Unfortuantly in simulation mode it still makes use of the S7-400 PLC,in order to keep this more separated we want to transfer this part of the program to WinAC ( WinLC rtx ). So that we can make use of the OS/ES setup and make use of simaticnet to connect tothe OPC server. This way an itern could add and test things to the process without harming the actual process and keeping the hardware free for operator training. My question before hand: What is the best aproachand order to convert this program to a WinAC controller, prefferably keeping most parts of the real/sim mode intact. The WinAC will only have communication options through OPC, so I want to avoid missing symbol lists, db's and hardware configure options. Thanks in advance.

When you go to "home" at this page and use the search, you can search for some application examples for the convertion of S7-400 program to WinAC. I think i saw one application about this topic. When i have more time i also will search for some examples or help. nice greetings bigfoot

WinAC RTX is code-compatible with SIMATIC S7, i.e. program sections created for SIMATIC S7-300 and S7-400 can continue to be used in WinAC RTX and vice versa. Existing investments in software are thus protected. In conjunction with the familiar and field-proven configuring using STEP 7, accumulatedSIMATIC know-how can be used extremely well with WinAC RTX.
