CP 343-1 Lean - how to check its state ?

Greg_S Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello ! At start forgive me please my english, its not perfect but i hope you will understand my question. At one object we do have 5 pcs. S7-300 stations, all based at 315-2DP CPU, CP 343-1 Lean modules, and some input/output cards. PLC's do exchange data with SCADA (InTouch) and with each other by ethernet, for communication between PLC's we do use AG_SEND and AG_RECEIVE functions. Actually we do experience some problems at this site, looks like theres problem with unstable power and from time to time 343-1 Lean do reset all its settings, when rest of PLC is working fine, of course in such situation 343-1 Lean is entering in fault and stop. Curious thing is that communication between PLC and Scada is still active and all data are transmitted, in that same time communication between PLC's is dead what is a problem for us because by ethernet we do transit urgent data for regulation. Loading hardware configuration, or even just disconnecting power from PLC for while allows to get back PLC to normal fault free state. Anyway power is problem to solve for our "cable teams", i do have other task. Now supervisor at Scada system do not know anything about state of Communication module. Communication with PLC is all the time active, Scada is showing correct measures so for this guy everything is fine. He dont know if 343-1 Lean is in run mode, fault free, or in stop and fault, because communication with Scada do work all the time. And he dont see that regulators are not getting actual data in case of faulty state of module... Till moment when power problem will be diagnosed and fixed, i would like to give this guy such information. I would like to find in some way, from program side, in which exacly state is actually my CP 343-1 Lean, if its in fault and stop i want show warning at Scada so guy can go to stopped module and reset PLC. After this long introduction i do want ask one simple question: - do i have acces to some "status bits" of 343-1 Lean from cpu program side to know in what status is my communication module ? If not, can i do it in anyway ? How to do it ? NOTE: I cannot check state of module by for example supervising "bit of life" sent by my communication partner. Yes, it gives me information that communication is stoped, but i dont know at which side, mine or this other PLC. So if its possible i prefer to check state of module instead state of transmission. jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, From what you tell, I believe the following - the SCADA is always working because it uses S7 protocol and no program is required in the PLC to answer to the SCADA requests (it is handeld by the operating system of the CPU). - you have a problem in the send/receive interface, may be becauseyou did not respect some programming rules. Incorrect interlocking of send jobs can cause problems. See here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/17853532 - the FC5, FC6 have status words giving some information on what is going on. - I never did it myself with a CP, but if I follow the manual System Software for S7-300/400 System and Standard Functions, you could read the LED status of a moduleby reading thea system status list (SSL) with SFC51 SSL-ID W#16#xy19 - Status of the Module LEDs
