CP 443-1 Communication stopping

h.yavuncu Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	We use a lot of S7-400 PLC "CPU 416-3 DP" in the same network in our factory. PLCs have Communication card "CP 443-1". We saw sometimes beetwen PLCs and HMI computers communication stopping. But PLCs continue running. Also There are no fault in the PLC Hardware diagnostic. TX and RX was not blinking in the CP 443-1 card leds. For solution, we did PLCs power supply on/off. Then Communication started again. We do not understand beetwen PLCs and HMI computers communication stopping. How can westart(or reset) CP 443-1 card as using PLC software. Please help us for our problem. Best regards.

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, a manual restart of CP isn't possible, and normally not required. Please post hardware version and order number of used CP.Check also firmware version and post it. In case of fault was it possible to reach the CP via Ethernet? and also via MPI ? Easiest test is to ping the CP if you use IP addresses. It could be also a physical error as UMENCHO mentioned. Was the LINK LED static on?

h.yavuncu Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi Rated X, We could not reach the CP via Ethernet. Also I sent to CP ping. Bu I did not response. CP dont have MPI port. I directly tried to connect CPU via MPI. It was ok. But i did not see problem in the HW diagnostic. Now i am prepareing ethernet network drawing. Please find attachment file Hardware and firmware. Thank you for your answers. Because I am working almost with the same hardware (companies) either this is a malfunction of CP (replace it in next time) or maintenance personal made a mistake. best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	You mention 100 m for CAT7 cable. This is quite long for industrial environment (I am not sure about your ituation). Have you ever thought about earthing/grounding/screen connectionconcepts to ensure proper noise reduction?

It is working with almost the same configuration with another plants. So, I keep my previous statements. The most important things is - how does it happen?
