CP343-1 Lean V2.3 not in Simatic HW Config list

vpfrande Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I'm trying to upgrade 4 old PLCs to Ethernet communication to be used for new HMI. The CP343-1 Lean (6GK7343-1CX10-0XE0) I reveiced had version 2.3 installed. The latest version I have in my Simatic HW config list is the v2.2. I'm having som eissues with getting the PLCs to accept the new card and I need to uppgrade the Simatic so that I have v2.3 in the list. I've tried to find the files online but can only find the firmvare uppgrade file that does not help me unless I choose to downgrade the modulesto v2.2. I'm running with 5.4 + SP5.

The danerous version would be that you wouldfind V 2.4in yourSoftware and you have V 2.3 on the CP, this will not work... but your situation works. SIMATIC does not provide every firmware version in STEP7, only those will be addedwhich offer new features to be configured. V2.3 is, as far as I know only solvingissues which you can not configure anyway. So why would you need any new setting? I hope Icould be of any help. Best regards J_Bell

I got some alarm concerning either faulty or unknown hardware on the K-bus. As the version I was trying to use was not the same as on the Lean card I assuemed that this was the reason. After some contact with Siemens in Sweden we found out that the reason was not the software version, instead it is a hardware issue. The CPU that is installed does not support the hardware in the new CP Lean card. So now Siemens i Sweden are trying to find a solution for us, either to find some old versions of Lean card or to uppgrade the four CPUs that is on the plant I'm working with now. But It is good to know that there would be no problem to use older versios in PG than there is in relaity. / Fredrik

It can therefore be configured with the same STEP 7/NCM version (configured as in the past as a CP 343-1 Lean (CX10) with V1.0/V2.0/V2.1/V2.2). It is not necessary to upgrade STEP 7 or NCM when using the compatible functions. In other words, new compatible versions do not necessary appear in the HWCatalog. Only new versions with new features will have an explicit entry.

There is a latest hardware catalog update, maybe help you. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/23183356
