CP5613A2 on Windows 2000 Professional Computer...

KD... Posts: 27 Rating: (2)	Hi, I am trying to install CP5613 A2 Card on a Computer with Windows 2000 Professional SP4 OS. The CD came with the hardware is only compatible with Windows XP or Higher, so I installed Simatic Net from the WinCC 5.1 package. The Version of the Simatic Net I installed is 07/2001 +SP4. On the first instance,the hardware was not detected, so I tried to add hardware using Add/remove hardware utility, but computer restarts without prompting anything, I tried to update the driverin the device manager, but the same result. Please advice me on this regards... Thanks in advance... KD

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I am sorry but for the CP 5613 A2 you need at least theversion 6.2 of the SIMATIC NET Driver. Earlier Versions of SIMATIC NET will not detect the Card. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, the problem is that the last driver that worked with the Licence you have is the Edition 2005 for each later Driver you need a new licence.Sadly this Driver is no longer purchasable. So either you get a copy in your company or by your Siemens Distributor, some have these discs in they’re desk... somewhere. Good luck. Best regards J_Bell P.S. But be aware of the need for W2K as OS.

Posts: 27 Rating: (2)	It’s quite strange, that means if a CP5613 card on computer with Wincc5.1/Win2K crashes and if I want to install a new card, it’spractically impossible as CP5613 card is no longer available and CP5613A2 card won’t work. I am sure there has to be some way, Siemens can’t ignore legacy systems. I was going thru some SImatic Net Vs. Windows OS version matrix available on Siemens website some where. I found that SImatic NEt VErsion which I have is not compatible...first step I need to do is to get the SImatic NEt Version which is compatible with Windows 2K SP4. Can you calp me in getting them?
