Address 0 should be left unused as this is used by configuration and/or diagnostic tools
Address 1,2 are usually reserved for Class 1 Masters i.e. your CPU/CP
Address 3..125 are used for Slaves
Address 126 is resevered for the Set Slave Address function - e.g. Simocode PRO have this ability
Address 127 is reserved for a Broadcast Address
So therefore in practice you can have a maximum of 124 slaves per network.

if I understand you correctly you only have a handlful of DP Slaves that you want to connect to the CPU, correct?
If that's the case (or even if it is a few dozen DP Slaves) I wouldn't worry too much as the CPU can easily handle it.
The absolute I/O limits of the 319-3 PN/DPcan be found in the technical spec (see HERE for more) and are:
- 8 Kbytes of I/O's address area in general.
- 124 DP Slaves per DP Master port (of which your CPU has two and you can add more via CP342-5 if need be).
- 244 bytes of cyclic I/O data per DP Slave (this is a Profibus standard value and applies for any DP slave).

Pay also attention in the CPU properties to the max. bytes of periphery that it can handle.
With 240 slaves, if each slave bring 50 bytes for instance, this would mean 12.000 bytes.
Not all CPU/CPs kan handle that.
