Hello again saathiksyed that is another short answer YES from me. Note though that your current DB' values will be reset to the values as stored on the EPROM (one can only assume that thedesigner/programmer has taken this into account when he decided to supply the CPU with an EPROM instead of RAM module). I hope this helps |

Either way is fine dear saathiksyed, this is your call (you can operate your 928 with a RAM module OR EPROM module). Advantage of using a RAM module in your 928 is: You can easilychange the logic "on the fly" in the PLC. Disadvantage of using a RAM module in your 928 is: Youdo require/rely on a backup battery to keep your program in the CPU in case of power failures. Advantage of using an EPROMmodule in your 928is: You do NOT rely on a battery backup You prohibit people from being able to easilychange the logic "on the fly" in the PLC. Disadvantage of using an EPROMmodule in your 928is: Any required program change require erasing and burning of the EPROM. My advise, if you were happy with EPROM usage inyour (now faulty)928A thus far, you should simply reuse it your 928B. Below are two manuals whichhave more on that subject and are generally handy to have in your case: SIMATIC S5-135U/155U System Manual S5-135U CPU 928B Programming Guide I hope this helps |
