DEMI Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	Hi, I created the crossreferance of the project I found 200 unused external tags I want to remove all the unused tags from tagmanagement how can I delete all the tags instead of deleting one by one. Regards Demi

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi DEMI, you could have a try with the "WinCC configuration tool" for exporting your tags to MS-excel. Delete in Excel the tags you don´t need and then reimport your tags. WinCC online help is giving you more information at "smart tools > WinCCconfiguration tool" nemo

ranr_mids Bronze Member Joined: 12/5/2005 Last visit: 8/9/2021 Posts: 289 Rating: (19)	Hi DEMI Be careful when using cross-reference to delete unused tags. Unless your scripts '#define' all the tags you use in them, tags within scripts do not show up during a cross-reference.

jackr Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Do you have an example of how to use the #define command to make it work with cross referencing? I used #define xyz "D3" as a test in a object change event (for a picture window) then did a cross-reference looking for D3. It did not report this use. Thanks. jack

I've spent a lot of time converting my screens away from script for speed reasons, so I can't give any firm examples. I did see, however, a couple oftags that listed 'global C Action' as their Type in the cross-reference list, so they must be recognised from within script.

As for your example, the following should work: // WINCC:TAGNAME_SECTION_START // syntax: #define TagNameInAction "DMTagName" #define xyz "D3" // WINCC:TAGNAME_SECTION_END // WINCC:PICNAME_SECTION_START // syntax: #define PicNameInAction "PictureName" // next PicID : 1 // WINCC:PICNAME_SECTION_END with regards, ikkezelf

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	hi, "next PicID :1" is just a syntax line. It's also located in the tag part, but I replaced it with your tag definition. You can leave it out, it just states that you can define multiple tags/pics there. I have never used the second part, but I can imagine it suits the same purpose, but now for pictures insteadas for tags. Maybe someone can confirm or correct. with regards, Ikkezelf

jackr Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Hi salma, What, if anything, is the advantage of defining the pictures? Apparently the tags need to be defined in order for cross-referencing to work, but there does not seem to be a similar function for pictures. jack
