CU240E need to set 2 limit switches for stop motor

Tomblackthorn Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi i have cu240E 2 DP . i need to set 2 limit switches for stop motor .First need to stop motor in positive direction a second one for stop in negative direction . when i reach positive limit switch need to stop motor and thru communication set him opposite way to move. don't want to move immediately in opposite direction .I upgraded firmware to 4.7.10 and using Starter 5.3.03 .I find this manual https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/mdm/109757230?c=101839462923&lc=en-WW and don't working as i want .I'm using DI1 and DI2 for limit switches .If someone can help me with correct configuration . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from G120 hardware limit.

Tomblackthorn Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Its controled from PLC .but when limit switch is reached i need to stop motor turn to positive or negativ direction .and then sent command for turning backwards or forwards depends which limit switch is pressed. Attachment uJ0KEypFp3.jpg (212 Downloads)

PISCEAN 2010 Diamond Member Joined: 4/23/2010 Last visit: 11/14/2024 Posts: 8092 Rating: (878)	If your drive is controlled via PLC, you need to connect limit switches to PLC DI. Also you need to start & stop inputs to PLC. Please check if you want to run motor at fixed speed or at variable. If want to run at fixed speed, configure drive DI & connect PLC DO appropriately. Write logic such that when start input & fixed speed input is applied to PLC, its DO will connect signals to drive & motor will run in say positive direction. When positive direction limit switch operates, signals input to PLC & motor will stop since PLC output start signal gets cut off. When again start signal is applied, motor will run in negative direction (since positive limit switch is pressed) & will rotate in negative direction still negative direction limit switch is pressed or still stop comand is applied to drive via PLC. In PLC you need to write all this ogic accordingly. HTH.
