Hello All, I Have CU250S-PN which is controlled by S7-1200 over Profinet. i have small positioning application of Rotating table. my encoder is TTL with 1024 pulses which i am going to connect to Drive. so my query is, i want to read encoder in PLC, because it is TTL (5VDC) i can not read it directly, so is it possible to read encoder Counts on Profinet? if yes kindly provide the details or sample program. Thanks in Advance.

Hello Yes. You can read the Encoder position over PROFINET. SINAMICS G120: Activating the basic positioner (EPOS) and position control for CU250S-2 FW4.6 in StartDrive V13 |

Thanks for the Response actually the problem is where i want to apply this application, S7 1200 is already there so they don't want to buy license for positioning for this simple job which can handled by 1200. |

G120 CU250s - Basic Positioner is Free ... you don't need to buy a license |
