naah Posts: 76 Rating: (8)	Hi, STEP 7 works under DOS. The com port must be COM1. You are using USB to Serial converter under Windows, under Windows there are many problems. Good luck!

When you use a USB to serial convertor ( You should be having a USB to S5 20mA TTY Convertor ) , the PC USB port simulates a Serial port. You should ensure in its properties that it is emulating COM1 which is what STEP5 needs Regards Navnag

With aUSB to Serial Converter it is not possible to communicate. I've tried this thing also. And you need one TTY Converter and Cables which converts yourSerial Port signal to TTY Current and establish communication. Good Luck.
