Hello John; If I understand your point correctly, you would like to have 2 slaves on the same network (the Yokogawa recorder and the DP couplerconnected tothat segment) exchange data. That is only possible if both slaves support "Direct Data Exchange", and the DP/DP coupler does not (I have no idea whether this is even possible with a Yokogawa recorder). The following FAQ will give you more details on modules that do support this feature: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/17660809 Basically, you should think abouttransfering the DP coupler data to your Profibus-DP master (as is normal for Profibus comms) and then writeit from the master to the recorder on its Profibus coinnection.. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi John, if I understand the problem right, you will access/get the data of the coupler witha slave. This is not possible. --> You have toread the data on the master and "send" the data to the slave.
The feature of direct data excahnge will be supported by PROFINET. Look at the follwoing Link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/44383954 |
