during establish the communication i get error code W#16#A085

VinceMalaysia Posts: 46 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am currently having one issue during establish the communication, which the error code is W#16#A085, from the manual this is license issue. My question is without the license can i do the communication test? Because i would like to test it before purchase the license. Thank you Vince Splitted from MODBUS / TCP communication via the integrated PN interface of the CPU Parameter Assignment.

Check the license-db and that you don't write manually into the first or the second byte of the license string in this db. Attach your project here to check it. The Error message A085 was solved after follow your instruction and another error message A090 and this mean no license in CPU, i think this error message would not effect the connection. But the connection still not establish yet, anything i miss out? I am configuring my PLC as server and collect data from PCB board (other supplier). Am i right? VinceMalaysia Posts: 46 Rating: (0)	Hi, Now i managed to let the conn_established = true and status_conn is 7002. But still no data received from modbus client? All the DB13 and DB14 still 0 values. I do not understand what is the mean of 7002 - Follow-on call (REQ irrelevant), connection being established. Anything i can do on this message? I tried your project in my hardware and it works fine. As client I used SimplyModbus. Check the parameterization of your client and test your program with the simulation client. It's good. 7002 is a status message of TRCV, that data are received. Go to TRCV in SIMATIC Manager and click F1 => the online help is opened. Perhaps the client sends values "0"? Has the DONE_COUNTER change? Wüstenräuber

I checked with the code 7002 and connection is established and data transfered, but still nothing in my DB, even i tried with just one coil from client and map to my db. Result still the same, i saw the bool data in client was turning on, but still get0 in my db. Any other i miss up? I can't see DONE_COUNTER in DB1, which one you mention? Vince

If you don't get an error, then the order was finished succesfully. Check your mapping once again. Which bit do you want to write? In SimplyModbus there is a button WRITE to send a write telegram. The parameter COUNT_DONE is in DB1 in address 102. Wüstenräuber

VinceMalaysia Posts: 46 Rating: (0)	Hi, Seem like the Done_Counter never turn on, so what does it mean? Do i need to trigger on any bit to let the data update finish? Just now i tested with write some value in DB12, DB13, DB14 before restart the CPU. After restart the PLC found that those value remain same in DB12, 13 and 14, so i believed no data transfer in between. Else those value will reset to zero. The simply modbus can communicate with my PCB board client and even can change value, but cant communicate with S7-PLC. I believe i miss out something, even i used OPC server to pull data from my PCB board through my computer also no problem. Where else??? Vince

You say, PCB board ist the client, but SimplyModbus ist also a modbus client. A client can't never communicate with another client. The other part is always a server. Which communication partner should be the active partner? The modbus client (client = master) is the active communication partner and sends write or read telegrams to the modbus server (server = slave). Wüstenräuber
