engineering CFC charts, your opinion

Oreca Platinum Expert Joined: 3/14/2008 Last visit: 5/29/2023 Posts: 1930 Rating: (844)	Ok guys, What do you prefer when creating CFC charts: I have to engineer a silo control system, where six silo's can be selected to be filled and emptied in auto and manual mode. I have a SCL source for filling and empting, MEAS_MON blocks to check the silo's for their level, and different OP_D blocks to control the silo's manually. One silo has three sensors: high level, low level and high high level. In total 6x3 = 18 MEAS_MON blocks. How do you guys program this? I create one CFC chart named: MEAS_SILO_LEVEL and in sheet 1, I put the three sensors ofsilo 1and in sheet 2 , I put three sensors fromsilo 2 and so on. I can also create one CFC chart for every silo. Grtzzz So what do you prefer

Testermax Posts: 159 Rating: (3)	Hi Sandor-CRX! Interesting question and I miss some more of the "opinions" from the experts on this kinda questions, like a best practice thread. Personally Im quite a rookie myself, but I would have created one hiearchial folder (in plan view) for each silo, and in each folder I would have used the process tag type ANAMON for each Level measurement. Then in each folder I would have created a "SiloXLGC" CFC that hold the silo logic, like your controller, etc. In this way you can create a separate picture for each silo, or a common silo picture. If you need a common picture, you should compile OS with the setting "Lower hiearchy level included" set to 1
