Entropy

Greetings.

I want to make an action based on entropy.

To do that, I must delay the value of analog signal x time, and then run it through a comparator.

It's possible, something like that. If I divert the Aq of two Average Value with different time intervals through a Mathematic Instruction and then run the output of this through an Analog Threshold Trigger and you have your high and low.

This, has a caveat. Because it's an Average, It tends to equalize values, so your time interval for the Average Value no1 must be small. But also, because you start from the same point in time, the time interval of the  Average Value No2 must be large enough to display any deviation. Then, this affects Average No 1 because it has to have a bigger time to act as an Average, and this goes on and on. Also, after 2 rounds this becomes an unknown, because No1 runs quicker than No2. 

This leads to experiments and I do not want to do that. It is also complicated and uses a lot of resources.

So, Is it possible to time delay an analog signal, or its digital value? Also, make this comparator run at specific time intervals, bigger thant the delay?

What you are describing will hardly be possible with the limited possibilities. An analog signal cannot be time-delayed in terms of contours. Clocked individual values already. Irregular clocking would also be possible within narrow limits. However, both were documented by a lot of resaoucen of the logo.

What exactly are you planning to do?

Maybe, but I do not know how to search for it. I mean, I even tried  to use mux, counter, as to hold information but as soon they have an input they lose it. Could you hint me on what to search?

Or if it's simpler for you please help me with the following:

And "down", when temperature falls.

Deviation 1c. Computation time is 15 sec.

And I want to make the same thing happen, after 15 more seconds. 

Please omit setting up the message text and lets suppose start is just after the analog amplifier, if you agree.

What does that have to do with starting the topic?

As I can read from the second post, you want to query a temperature at intervals and compare it with the last measurement. Then it should be evaluated whether the new value has risen or fallen.

Am I correct ?

Well I am mistaken. I looked further at the watchdog solution and it seems to work only around  a specific temperature. In that case a threshlold trigger does basically the same and if you want 2 highs you just invert the signal.

Well we can't actuary measure entropy but sure we can tell if it's positive, or negative, right?

Gentlemen ahnd ladies, I found this. I'm halfway there.

Is it possible to keep the value stable, of the "data storage after 5 seconds" Counter, through the reset?

Can I make a digital value, analog? If possible then I will just add an average and the thing is finished.

You can for example use analog mux or mathematic instruction to convert the digital value of a counter into an analog value.

For storing analog values, you can use mathematic instruction, in the parameters you set "When EN=0, Keep last value". A short pulse at EN will make it store.

I think the best solution for answering the question "Is the value increasing or decreasing the last 15 seconds?" is to compare a 15 second average with 1 second average, using the "Average value" blocks.

Using shift registers for sequencing, and mathematic instructions for storing values, it would be possible to store 32 values and then run comparators to compare the present value to one 32 values ago, but the program will be very big, about 200 blocks. I'm not sure the result will be much better than just using two "Average value" blocks and analog comparator. 

The problem with 2 averages is repeatability, as mentioned above. After round 2 the program no longer serves its purpose. The problem is not only how to store info, but the way it's done. The stepping up the counter does, every time the value is updated, vs( after round1) the permatelly on-instantaneous change, the average does, @ the comparator and the values become invallid.

Also, I do not see how a bigger program would do any good, could you post the start of what you are proposing? 

Ps I tried reinjecting the same signal, as to make a perpetual circle, but guess what.

This is how you store 2 temperatures and you extract their substraction in the way that

if  possitive = X1 and if negative = X2.

In this example

General sample time is 11s

General Interlude time is 10s

1st sample time is at 5,01sec

2nd sample time is at 10,01sec
