Error Opening CFC

I´ve already worked some time witha project and had no problem at the beginning, but in the last days, i´m getting a strange error message when i try to open a CFC (and it doesn´t open). It doesn´t happen every time i open a CFC but randomly. Also a pop-up window is displayed, showing the message "the hierarchy folder couldn´t be read". Hasit ever happened to anyone? Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	I have not encountered this but my guess is, your problem isrelated toWindows installation. I can see from your attachment that automatic Windows update is turned on. This is not good. You should not update your Windows with all patches. PCS7 is not tested with all patches. See the following FAQ: What should you watch out for when implementing Microsoft Security Patches in SIMATIC PCS 7? In my opinion the best way now would be to restore your machine to original install image (if you made that in the beginning) and see if you still get the errors. Regards

Mucosolvan Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hi, I encountered that error message a few times. Some time when trying to open CFC, and some time when compiling. If that happens to you, don't panic first. Usually restarting the SIMATIC Manager OR Windows would help. Regards FH

PCS7 Expert Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Hi Experts. Reinitiating same problem ... I am using PCS7 V7.0 SP1 .... When exsiting project is opened there is no hierarchy folder in plantview visible. Can't open CFC chart, error popup comes with message "Cannot read hierarchy folder". Save as from simatic manager is also not works, unable to access AMDBase.db and AMDBase.log This project was running for month's without any problems. " If we have PCS7 or S7 installed on C: drive and when we open any project or PCS7 a hidden folder is created on D: drive calledAMOBJS or something similar, each time when you open a project and the folder gets deleated when you close the project. Now in my case it happned that I had a pendrive attached to the PC and I opened the project, this time the above folder was generated in the f: drive (the pendrive). And once i remove the pendrive the project does not get this temperory folder and i got the above error. So i reconnected the pendrive, closed the project and removed the pendrive. Then opened the project and this time it opened well, since now the folder is created in D: drive" So please check it this is one of the problem in you case if you are using external removable drive.
