Establishing communication between S7 - S7

plcs7user Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, So I have three S7 independentsystems (each have own projects): 1) CPU312 and CP343-1 Lean 2) CPU315-2DP and CP343-1 3) CPU315-2DP and CP343-1 They are wiredwith ethernet androuter. Need is: -transfer from 1) to 2) bit information, interger is enough, 16 bit -transfer from 1) to 3) bit information, interger is enough, 16 bit -transfer from 2) to 1) bit information, interger is enough, 16 bit -transfer from 3) to 1) bit information, interger is enough, 16 bit I have read several days manuals etc. but still I cannot understand completely how I must do this.. Whichof those is best? I don´t need tranfer time critical information.. How should I configure NetPro? In each project? My programmingcareer is just starting.. Self learning is efficient, but still I need some quide.

GrzegorzG Posts: 63 Rating: (19)	CPU312 has only 32kB program memmory and is equiped with CP343-1 Lean. In this case you cannot use USEND/URCV and BSEND/BRCV because: 1. they are large blocks in S7-300 and there can be not enough memory in CPU312, 2. CP343-1 Lean has only S7 server functionality. If you want to use S7 communication functions you have to use GET/PUT functions and they have to be programmed in 315-2DP CPU's. You can configure connections to CPU312 in projects of PLC 2 and 3, as connections to an "unspecified" partner with PLC1 address.

clemensm Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, Just for the fun of it, if you only want to transfer few integers between S7 PLCs, you may use Global Data Communication over an MPI network.See the Help topic in Step 7. Regards, Clemen

Safety1 Posts: 73 Rating: (20)	Hi PLCS7USER, I would first check to see if the CPU and the communications portsupports S7 Client and S7 Server functionality. See the link http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/17628518 and http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24352751 If you use the GET/PUT please make sure you use the correct ones. These blocks exist in two libraries. One is the Simatic Library and the other is in the Simatic Net library. They have the same FB numbers, same names but the length is different.

This will at least not work at a PCL with the CP 343-1 Lean, as the CP would have to work as an active node within a S7-Communication. The CP 343-1 Lean is only able to be a S7-Server. If you already think about the use of a both sided configured connection with Communication blocks on both sides, why don’t you try to use ISO on TCP Connection with AG_SEND / AG_RECV instead? They work just great are very flexible and they are faster than the S7-Communication. Do you maybe need some samples? If so try this FAQ: How do you program the communication blocks FC5 and FC6? I think it is a quite good sample. Best regards J_Bell
