Hi Rafal1794, there are some more differences depending to the internal construction of some modules. For example the "current limitation" in basic analog input modules is built in the power supply (for the connected senors), and in standard ai modules the current limitation is built directly into the channel. So if you would like to connect the sensors with an external power supply, you will loose the current limitation with the BA modules. This may be the reason why in the wiring diagram, the 4-wired sensors are connected to the internal power supply only. As an example, the wiring diagram and the internal construction with following links. SIMATIC ET 200SP analog input module AI 8xI 2-/4-wire BASIMATIC ET 200SP analog input module AI 4xI 2-/4-wire STThis is only an example, there may be some more differences with other modules.
