Extracting Individual Alarms from the alarm 8P block into HMI

Rodrick Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have used the Alarm 8P block in a customised FB that was programmed in SCL. I have read most of the docs on how this is done and my FB works. In the HMI the alarms can be viewed in the Group display, but I cannot extract the individual alarms to animate stuff on my faceplate, and I cannot acknowledge individual alarms from my faceplate. I am unsure where to get the alarms from. I am using PCS7 V6.1, full system using the 417 CPU. This matter is quite urgent, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx Rodrick

Rodrick Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi Nemo, Thanks for the input. The method you are suggesting requires the manual creation of every single alarm. Our project is large with over20000 IO over MBUS TCP. Let me try to clarify the situation a little further... The individual alarmsare set on the SIG bits of the Alarm 8P block that is called as a instance in our customised SCL coded FB. The individual alarms can be seen in the dynamically created DB associated with the FB. When it is passed to the OS, our alarm banner has full functionality, ie. you can see and acknowledge individual alarms. What we cannot do is, find a tag associated to the individual alarms. We require this to create seperate animation eg. "HH ALARM", "LL ALARM". If the alarm banner is fully functional surely there is a way to access these alarms individually. I have got a couple of local Siemens A&D guys on the case as well, and they cannot seem to find a solution. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rodrick

I think what you need is to evaluate the .EventState variable which is created in HMI tag management for each instance of Alarm_8p when you transfer the tags to WinCC. The status information of EventState can be found in WinCC Information System: Working With WinCC -> Working with projects -> Creating Process Pictures -> Working With Objects in the Object Palette -> How to insert a Group Display.

Rodrick Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi Freddy, Thanks for the suggestion but I have tried that. The problem is that 1 Alarm_8P generates 1 Eventstate. Lets take for example that in my Alarm 8P block I have3 alarms that areAlarm class 1. In my Eventstate they areall represented by Bit 31(MS-bit) so I cannot distinguish between them, nor could I acknpwledge them individually. On some occasion I have numerous alarms that fall into this class in the Alarm 8P block. A bad solution is to use multiple instances of the alarm 8P block in my FB, but this will become ridiculous in some cases and will eat up too much of the system resources. It becomes a problem if I used many different user defined classes, because the extended status display on the HMI can only handle 6 alarm classes When I did a previous project using APACS on the AS level and PCS7 v6.1 on the OS, the link between the two was made by using PCS7 DBA, that used a HMI Bridge template. In this project an Eventstate and an "Eventraw" was created, the eventraw allowed the access to individual alarms. Any input will be welcome, thanks Rodrick

The solution is hidden in the Alarm8P output "ACK_STATE". This word (16 bits) containns 16 signals which are associated with the 8 inputs SIG_1 to SIG_8. Bits 1 to 7 are the incoming events(Active) and bits 8-15 are the outgoing events(Acknowledge). When This word is other than W#16#FFFF, it means that something is active and/or not acknowledged. To get the stsus of the SIG_1 to SIG_8 to the ACK_STATE output you will have to enable the EN_R input (Always TRUE). If you need an example just reply and i will look in the application i have done and send you an example. i hope this explanation was helpful. Regards Bashier

graeber Experienced Member Joined: 12/16/2006 Last visit: 10/13/2024 Posts: 56 Rating: (2)	Hi Rodrick, I have uploaded a jpg picture with the chart i have made for the alarm8p alarms. in the picture you will see the following block : Alarm8p,W_2_BITSFC,OR,F_TRIG,DTY_STBY_LOCK. the procedure is that DTY_STBY_LOCK generates 2 alarms which are connected to SIG_1 & SIG_2 of Alarm8p and also it locks some pumps out in the field. These pumps will get unlocked when the operator has acknowledged(W_2_BITSFC willevealuate the QMSG_ACKS of Alarm8p)The the alarms on SIG_1 & SIG_2.The OR will make sure that both alarms were acknowledged so the falling edge block will send a RESET signal to DTY_STBY_LOCK and the process continues. BIT_0 & BIT_1 will be TRUEwhen the messages arrive to Alarm8p and they will be false as soon as the operator acknowlede the messages.
