dominotasi Member Joined: 10/7/2021 Last visit: 2/16/2022 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have IoT2050 Advanced version with preinstalled OS. I also installed lxde GUI with instruction of support page. I am working with this device for node-red & MindSphere connection, but in these days I have faced some problems about connection. Although the static IP was specific for eth1, the device could not get an IP or could not be up even if it did. There was also IP switching between X1 and X2. I also had a problem with the GPU and as far as I researched, the problem is solved in the latest image. So I decided to update my device but I couldn't update it. The commands in the how to document did not work for me and I saw that my software version was different. While the document shows debian 10, my device shows debian 11 and there is no version information. The commands I've run so far have been nothing more than apt update&upgrade and installing packages. I don't understand how this difference is... Is it possible for me to reset the device to factory setting and run it clean and up to date? Are you talking about Industrial OS or Example Image? The only released image with Debian 11 is the Example Image V1.2.1 and there the output of cat /etc/os-release looks different and fw_printenv command does work. Best regards!

Also when I opened the device and connected with UART cable, it says "Welcome to Siemens Industrial OS!''. In the iot2050's github page the latest version is V.1.2.1. but for IndustrialOS it should be different and I couldn't find any document or place about industrial OS without Getting Started. I know industrial OS and Example image are different, but I can't see my image version and I know my version is not latest and it seems my OS debian version is upstreamed, but I don't know how part. What can I do? Best regards, Merve

bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 3345 Rating: (380)	Hi, usually you see the image version in /etc/os-release, but this seems changed on your image. I can only imagine that this happend with an apt upgrade, but as far as I know this command does not upgrade Debian from 1o to 11? And it would also not explain why fw_printenv does not work. Which FS does your IOT2050 have? If it is 3 then you could simply boot from SD card, clean the eMMc and install the IndOS with the service stick from scratch again. If it is 2, you didn't change the bootorder beforehand and now you are not able to call fw_setenv, the only left option is a UART cable. With that you can change the boot order. Best regards!

I checked the device and I have FS02 and it seems I will change it with UART cable. What should my next step be? Best regards, Merve

Chapter 3.9: Connect the UART Cable Chapter 3.9.3: Select boot device for next boot --> Here use a SD card with Example Image on it Chapter 3.6: Clear the eMMc Chapter 3.7.1: Install Industrial OS from scratch with Service Stick. Please send a PM with your email address to me, then I can provide the Industrial OS service stick image. I hope I can do it soon, currently I can't read PMs due to a platform problem. Best regards!
