Fault: module has a fault

Information on the CPU status will be found in the diagnostic buffer of the PLC, which you can open with th menu item PLC/Module information in Step 7 v5.x.The diagnostic buffer logs all information related to faults and events that the CPU's operating system has detected, and that will also cause diagnsotic LEDs to light up and diagnostic symbols to appear in Step 7, like the one you pointed out.

One you have opened the diagnostic buffer, examine the messages you will find there, increase the number of logged messages if you feel you do not see enough.

Many beginners have difficulty interpreting these messages. If you use the Save As.. button in the daignostic buffer screen you can attach the generated diagnose.txt file on your next forum repky so we can examine it wih you and perhaps provide some hints.
