Field PG M3 - CP5611 (Auto)

Hi,

A weird problem here.  I have a Field PG M3 (6ES7 715-1CC21-0AD1) which is refusing to connect to S7-300 and S7-400 PLCs if I use he CP5611 connection in Auto mode.  It's running Step-7 5.5 SP4 on WinXP SP3.

When selecting the PG connection it will correctly auto-detect the protocol (MPI or DP) and the baud rate but won't actually connect or see the PLC.  If I set the protocol and baud rate manually it works OK.  If I use a USB PC Adapter in Auto mode it works OK.  I've tried the MPI/DP cable on two other PGs (an older M2 and a newer M3) and the cable is fine.

Any ideas?

maybe your device drivers need to be reinitialized.
