Find/Replace (CTRL+F) doesn't work

Ctrl+F is not working, I am using V5.5 sp3. when I press the Ctrl F gray out the window title bar, but is not opening the Find window. Need some help.

Do you know following FAQ?

In STEP 7, why can the "Find/Replace" dialog not be displayed in the LAD/STL/FBD editor?

This FAQ can be easily found over search window in the upper rigth.

This is how I had the same problem:
I had additional screen connected and I think I had the "Find/Replace" window open in the additional screen. Then I had to disconnect the other screen. When I tried to continue working with only the primary screen, the Find/Replace did not appear anymore. Well actually it did appear but it appeared in the screen that no longer was connected. I could not directly see the Find/Replace window but when testing it seems the window was active but not visible anywhere. Restarting the computer did not help. I only managed to restore functionality once I connected the additional screen back and moved the now visible "Search/Replace" back to my main screen.

                 What your going to Find ..??

                  If ur going to find Address in Programming Block means . U have to go for Cross Reference Option . Then only u have to Get all the Information about That ..

you can try to delete the registry-key of Simatic Manager. But be careful with doing changes in the registry. Here is how it works:

1. restart your system
2. start the registry (start > run > regedit > OK)
3. got to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens\STEP7\
4. right-click on the left window on Step7 and export the settings just for safe
5. delete the complete key 2.0
6. restart the computer again
7. start the STEP7 Software

The settings of Step7 should be now as after a new installation,

tried everything I read on this forum but still not working.

It seemed that it definitely had something to do with the extended desktop.

After I connected the second screen again and then made the 2nd screen as primary screen, miracleously the find replace window appearde again :-)

Changed my PG screen back to pruimary screen and all ok.

I had the same problem and fixed it by just changing the registry settings SearchDlgXPos and SearchDlgYPos to visible screen locations (for example change SearchDlgXPos and SearchDlgYPos to 10).

You can find these settings in registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens\STEP7\2.0\Applications\S7KAFAPX\SETUP ATTRIBUTES

The adjustment to 10 to both X and Y position in the registry (the folder did end on S7KAFAPX/SETUP ATTRIBUTES by the way) did help, but I also had to unmark in Step 7 itself in the Options-Customize-General Tab the "Save window arrangement and contents at end of session".

I noticed when I changed the registry values and I closed step 7 the values were changed back to the very high values from before.
