Thanks AMAZINGAHMED That is the best part of the Forum ... Geographical and Political boundries are not a barrier in interacting with each other. My point is : The forum is an additional platform for Siemens Automation Support. It cannot and should not replace the direct person to person support from our local Siemens contacts. Would appreciate if members can share the easy and quality of support they receive from their local Siemens contacts. Cheers Navnag |

Good points you raised there William B. Well not all users in the forum are annonymus, but you are right, most of the users are ... There is nothing wrong in "We can do it" approach, but a little support never hurts, whether it is from Online Support , Forum or Local contacts. Regarding your second point ... the simple answer is .. Siemens have a very comprehensive range of ( Mostly ) good products. They areeasily available worldwide ( Now easier with many online retailers ). To the best of my knowledge no other ( SINGLE ) supplier has such a comprehensive range available. Many machine manufacturers ( Especially from Europe and Asia ) supplying all over the world use Siemens automation systems, so you have plants and machines with Siemens hardware everywhere. It is thesupport that isnot available everywhere in equal measure. There may be very valid and compelling reasons for this, but then this is the ground reality. Cheers Navnag |

Have to agree with Vithani's reply above, it's quite rare to have a support forum like this with so many users and so much activity. If you often work with other brands or product, you'll know how difficult it can be to get fast and decent support for local problems. There are (lots of) companies that don't even reply within 10 days on your first support question. I also would like to add that often forum members are more familiar with localized usages and troubles people ran into than "official" support employees. So combination of forum and "support request" works just perfect in my opinion. |
