Getting value from HMI

Hi, 

I try to get data from HMI (KTP1200BasicPN) to PLC(CPU1214C). I need to set a referance value on HMI for a temperature control project. Later it will compare this set value with measured temperature value and adjust proportional valve openness according to difference between set temperature value and measured temperature value. 
As a sample to getting data from HMI to PLC, i wrote attached program. But it doesnt do the calculation that i want. I dont know what i m doing wrong

First, you need to have an "HMI connection" between you HMI and your PLC.

For this, you need to go into the "Network view" of the "Devices & networks" tab.

Then, you select the "Connections" button and select "HMI connection" in the list.

Click on you HMI and drag & drop to your PLC.

You should now see your HMI connection in the hidden grey list "Connections" on the right of the network.

Second thing, you need to select your PLC reference temperature tag of your PLC in the IO field of your HMI.

This tag must have the HMI connection you create first in the "Connection" column of the HMI tag list.

If you have a HMI connection and the HMI tag are related with this connection, then you should take a look at the PLC protection.

Did you set a protection access password in the properties of the PLC?

If so, then you should enter this password in the properties of the HMI connection.

I add a example project to my post.

You need to retrieve it with "Project" > "Retrieve" because it is an archived project.

If you have more question, do not hesitate.

A good way for us to find a solution to your issue would be for you to give us your project.

I have created a test project(Project1)  to check if i can get value from HMI to PLC . In this project i have tried to add two inputs which r set through HMI by typing values in I/O field gap. It can be seen in test project (Project1) on root screen.  Values should be typed in Tag_1 and Tag_9 fields on the HMI touch screen and i want to see this addition in  Tag_8. That is what i try to do in Project 1.

P.S. Other project is temperature control project which is named as deneme2denklem in the attachments. In this project i used Turkish names as tags to make me easy to find what belongs to what  but it will be difficult for u to understand  That is y it is better focus on test project. If u can solve my problem in Project1, i can use that solution in main project(deneme2denklem).

Please pay attention to your PLC program.

See the following:

MW 0  exist of MB0 and MB1

MD 2 exist of MW2 and MW4 (MB2, MB3, MB4 and MB5)

MW3 exist of MB3 and MB4

When you want to use Words, please start at even numbers.

When you want to use Double words, please pay attention that it will use two words.

You are right.

Yeliz, you can see which tags use which address in the assignment list, right click on you PLC in the Project tree.

You can use this list to see if two tags overlap over each other.

Little trick for you would be to write the new tag, name only, you want to use in you network, right click in it and select "Define tag".

TIA will then offer you free address for those new tags.

You can also use "Rewire" if you have tag overlapping to assign a new free address to your tag.

Do no forget, keep it simple.

Ok. I will try to pay attantion. I m very new in programming :(

I have another question. When i type a value in I/O field, the value which i type is seen on the screen for 2 seconds but turns into 0 immediately. I have attached short video to show that. Do u have any idea about reason for that?
