Hello achate; It seems the CM572 Profibus-DP module (for the ABB AC500 PLC family) can act as a Profbus-DP master. However, GSD files are only used for master-slave communications over Profibus-DP. The GSD file contains information that the Profibus configurator will use to set the parameters of the master's bus profile and data exchange with the slaves. It serves no purpose for master-master communications. So basically you will never find a GSD file for a Profibus-DP master. The S7-400, the S7-1500 (with a CM 1542-5 Profibus master) and the ABB PM573 (with a CM572) can all be masters on the Profibus-DP network. The Siemens PLCs can use S7 Connections/communication blocks to exchange data between Profibus masters. But you will have to investigate what internal functions are available to the AC500 PLCs to send/receive data between Profibus masters. There is a good number of documents on the web showing how to configure the MM572 for master-slave data exchange, using Sycon as a Profibus configurator. For example: ac500 profibus dp - Control Systems Application and Knowledge Store So it would be very easy to set the S7-400 and the S7-1500 (with their integrated Profibus portd) as slaves to the ABB PLC and start exchanging data (up to 244 bytes OUT/244 bytes IN, a Profibus slave limitation). But I am finding it difficult to locate information on master-master acyclic data exchanges for the CM572. I believe your best resource at this point would be ABB support directly, if master-slave configurations cannot help you. Another r option could be a DP/DP coupler (you would need 2 actually, between each of the 2 S7 PLCs and the CM572); these act as slaves to 2 DP masters, so the masters can exchange 244 bytes OUT/244 bytes IN between themselves, through the slave interfaces of the coupler. See this manual for a more detailed explanation: ManualDP/DP Coupler https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/1179382 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
