HART compatible modules for software redundancy V1.2 system

As far as SMs (signal modules) are concerned, the manual states simply that all available modules for ET 200M installationcan be used with SWR (see the screenshot below). This requires an redundant IM 153-2 installation, with active bus modules and special redundancy mounting rail.

Hello Serkan;

If you read the sections that follow your extract, they show how the channels of the HART modules can be setup as redundant pairs on a S7-400H system, and used as redundant analog I/O.

And as you state, there are no references to a SWR system based on S7-300 CPUs in the HART modules manual.

The references I had pointed to only show that mounted as part of a ET 200M, these HART modules could be supported by SWR, and that the values of the instruments connected to them could be read/written by the primary CPU or the stand-by CPU in case of primary failure. If this is sufficient for your project, then you can go ahead following instructions in the manual.

Basically the racks seem adequate for a redundant operation, if the ET 200Ms are mounted on active bus modules and special mounting racks.

You will find the details in the following screenshot. Note that the redundant power supplies do not have an active bus module, either you install them outside the redundacy rack, or you use 2x 6ES7195-7HA00-0XA0 active bus modules, for 1 PS and one IM 153-2 together. But then you lose the redundant capabilities of the power supplies, as they are attached to a single CPU.

I can only discuss my own experience, and I have only done HART with Siemens processors with the point-to-point analog input or output modules (the ones described in an earlier post).

Now it seems that there is a possibility of connecting HART multiplexers directly to PDM, using the following optional license:

You may be interested in the fact that there is no information about HART redundancy in any document i have looked at in relation to HART multiplexers.
