kristine Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Hello, Thanks for replying, i have sent program to moderator. We dont get any error when we run our program,its just does'nt work. There is no problem sending data from simulator to PLC and from PLC to Operator Panel, but we are not able to send data from Opertaor Panel to PLC and from PLC to Simulator, i just dont understand that why it is not happening . Are they any limitations?, that i can not call a modbus function with same IP address for two different jobs (Send/Recieve) because i am using to different calls with same IP address for sending and recieving. I shall be very greatfull for your kindness. Thanks and Regards Kristine Pettersen

This parameter is NOT an initalization parameter. If you set parameters, which are not used, it's very confusing. The same thing is in OB1 the parameters ID and DB_PARAM. You set these parameters in OB1 but they are not used in cyclical OB. It makes no sense. In the project there are 2 connections: PLC is client in both cases andthere are connections to a partner with IP address .2 and to a partner with IP address .3. In OB1 you set the parameters so, that the registers 0, length 12 (0 to 11) are read from communication partner with ip address .2. The second call: You write registers 0, length 12to the communication partner withip address .3.This is okay. If you want to write to partner with .2, then you have to change the parameters START_ADDRESS, LENGTH and WRITE_READ. If you want to read from partner with ip address .3, then you have to change these parameters as well. These changes you have to do in your program. If you want to read/write the same registers always, then you need change only the parameter WRITE_READ. Change the parameter and try it again. If it doesn't work, then have a look at the errorcodes STATUS_MODBUS and STATUS_CONN. These values are set only 1 CPU cycle and are saved in DB1 in your program. If an order is started with ENQ_ENR=TRUE, there will be an reaction: either DONE_NDR or ERROR is set to TRUE. Wüstenräuber

Hi again thank you for all your help.
the error code is

A006	The given range of registers defined with DATA_TYPE, START_ADDRESS and LENGTH does not exist in data_type_1 to data_type_8.

data_type_5	B#16#1	Coils

start _5	W#16#280	Start address: 640
end _5	W#16#281/2	End address: 641/2

and i'm using this in 0b1

i've tried many diffrent combinations but still get the same error code

Wüstenräuber Gold Expert Joined: 10/3/2008 Last visit: 8/28/2024 Posts: 961 Rating: (124)	Hi kristine, you parameterize the register 640 (dez) as the first register in DB14, but then you want to write the register 0 (START_ADDRESS = 0). So it's clear, that this errorcode occurs. If you want to use the configuration start_5 = 640 (dez), then the START_ADDRESS has to be 640 (dez) at least. If you want to write the START_ADDRESS = 0, then you have to change the initialization start_5 = 0. You can read or write only these addresses, which you have parameterized in OB100. Wüstenräuber

Do following: Create a new S7 project Open your project and go to online Copy the ONLINE instance DB of your modbus block Paste it in the new project archive the project and attach here Wüstenräuber

Try again: Download the blocks to the CPU, set CPU to RUN and start an order with ENQ_ENR = TRUE. After that go to online view in SIMATIC Manager and copy this online DB. Wüstenräuber
