Help on video streaming via Profibus for MP377 ?

desmul24 Posts: 378 Rating: (71)	Dear dears, I am on the project to stream a live video to pannel MP377 via profibus network, I got a manufacture to manufacture a profibus video camera and to prepare GSD file, if I got some ideas on how to associate the profibus address to media control. Please help me on any ideas, links or any infos regarding how to associate the profibus address to media control? Kind regards!

Prats Posts: 272 Rating: (4)	Hi Desmul24, I can think of the following points to be considered. 1) The data size limit would be of 244 bytes as this is a limitation of profibus. 2) The GSD file should setup DP parametes in such a way that the rsponse time is not exceeded. 3) The live streaming required a mediaplayer/flash player m not very sure that MP 377 supports that. If the requirement is only getting the live pictures you can use a webserver of the camera and a thin client. I think that should work. Do let me know about the application dev..It is an interesting one.

Dear Prats, Nice starting ideas, On your point 1) I think the data size limit 244 bytes is enough for my application because the video data can be compressed and disected to data pakets before transmitted to profibus. Could you please tell me the source of this info? On your point 2) could you please explain me more on response time? What is the minimum response time? On your point 3) It is possible to play video on media player or I can make my own custom ActiveX player. So no problem regarding this point. Thank you!
