Dear nandgate, I would say that this question is not so easy to answer, while it it pending on your application andthe type ofencoder used. Generally it is possible toprocessencoder input signals. Eitheroninternal (compact) CPU's or with external function modules (i.e. FM350-1) on other CPU's. What you shouldverify is that the input module can handle your encoder signal. A quick look atboth specs. will tell you. Regards. |

Dear nandgate, please check out the S7-300 compact CPU's with onboard High-Speed-Counter (HSC) orexternal counter module for S7-300. Alternativlyit's worth to checkout the S7-1200as well. You can't beat the pricewith a S7-300. A link to the available CPU's is here: https://eb.automation.siemens.com/goos/catalog/Pages/ProductData.aspx?catalogRegion=WW&language=en&nodeid=10045649&tree=CatalogTree®ionUrl=/#topAnch&activetab=product& Regards. |
