HomingDone status bit

Hi Everyone,

I need to confirm an axis is homed, I thought I could use the following <axis name>.StatusBits.HomingDone

So basically if say an operator presses the start button and the axis isn't homed it will carry out the homing sequence.

Once the axis is homed and remains homed this sequence would not need to be carried out.Obviously once the axis moves away from the home position in auto I still require this bit to stay true, its only when the axis has lost the homing reference do I need this bit to be false.

Reading the description on this status bit I thought I had it sorted. When monitoring this bit it will momentarily flash on then off during the homing sequence, I have the axis offset by 20mm from the homing sensor.

Say they had to put the machine in manual and jogged the drive then it will have lost its homing reference and need to be homed again to carry out an 'absolute move' either by a manual push button or I can have the program check the home status bit and start an auto home when the auto start button is pressed. Once it has got its home reference every time the start button is pressed there would be no need to re-home itself, if this makes sense.

isn't it enough not to start the homing sequence again while the sequence is running (BUSY)...?

Say they had to put the machine in manual and jogged the drive then it will have lost its homing reference and need to be homed again to carry out an 'absolute move' either by a manual push button or I can have the program check the home status bit and start an auto home when the auto start button is pressed. Once it has got its home reference every time the start button is pressed there would be no need to re-home itself, if this makes sense. 

Make sure that MC_POWER does not loose its enable.

Homing is required again if MC_POWER looses its enable.

It is a difficult situation if you have to use a type of torque-off-stop.

 hats my issue, if the PLC is ever put into stop mode or the power gets shut off to the machine the machine lose its reference.

I just need to know the flag that the CPU uses so that it knows it can carry out an absolute move?

or will it be as i mentioned earlier the <axisname>.StatusBit.HomingDone ?
