How add new Oper.Panel TP1500 to old STEP7 project ?

Hello, everybody !

I have an old STEP7 project created in v.5.5 SP4.

It includes :

1.  S7-300  PLC (CPU 313C-2 DP) ;

2.  OP77 Simatic Operator Panel ;

3.  An Industrial PC with CP5613A2 (PROFIBUS communication PC card) and a SCADA with OPC Server

(see attachments1.*** … 3.***) .

4.  I have TIA portal v.13 Profess. (incl. WinCC Profess).

The task is to add a new TP1500 ComfortOperator Panel into the project remaining the old panel  OP77.

Is it necessary to create and download new HW and NetPro configurations to the PLC?

Item 3 will be removed, but Item 2 (OP77) will remain.

The question  is how can I do it step by step ?

You don't need to migrate Step7 to TIA.

You need to use proxy.

But I already migrated my old STEP7 project to TIA (but just without OP77) and created more than half new project.

I think now I have a perfect TIA project where I can simulate and test all the technological parameters with “PLCSIM” and also to check trend and alarms.

I afraid I will not have the possibilities if I use «proxy».

Is there another way ?

As I told before if you wanted to keep the old project and integration with old SIMATIC Panel, keep it as is and use proxy method.

And now you would like to add a new Panel to you project. with Proxy, you will address a file in your project which will transfers all blocks, symbols as if you have an integrated project. So, it will save the migaration time for you from classical s7 to TIA.

Now I have an almost completed TIA-project.

Its "PLC part" was got via migration from the old STEP7 project.

It has the same components (plc tags, program blocks, Symbol Table and so on).

In TIA-project there is new TP1500 which has the set up communication to real CPU with correspondent Profibus address and Profibus BUS settings like in real working Automation System.

I don't quite understand why should I make everything from very beginning using "DeviceProxy PLC"?

They told me if I download my new HMI-project to the new TP1500 Comfort and connect it to PLC, then everything would work Ok.

I.e. PLC and TP1500 will exchange with tags successfully.

Is it so ?

If you don't use Proxy and addressed all tags in your comfort panel correctly, it will be linked correctly to S7 CPU without any problem.

But in this case, you will define each tag in the WinCC comfort project. a lot of engineering hours you will spend although you can use proxy and import all these tags from s7 directly and also avoid any mistake will happen during redifining the tags again.

So, it is an easier way not more which will minimize your engineering time.

But now I would like to know how to start simulation in TIA project with DeviceProxy PLC, using old PLCSIM v.5.*  together with WinCC RT simulation on my configuration PC.

Now I know and that 

ALSO the GOLD words of some skilled guy :

".......  the proxy is needed if the PLC project can't be migrated to TIA Portal   (PLC is not supported in TiA or functionality is not supported).

In your case you have migrated the PLC and the HMI so you must not use the Proxy, you can configure the HMI and Simotion PLC directly in the TIA Engineering Software ....." 

That was exactly my case !!!

In "PLC"-folder of a TIA-project which is got with the migration (not with PLC_Proxy) from an relative old STEP7 v.5.4(5) project you can drag & drop all your tags from both "PLC tags" & "Program blocks" folders to any project screen as well as in the TIA-project which "PLC"-folder is got with the PLC_Proxy. 

So I think the advantage PLC_Proxy  vs.  Normal Migration is not to essential.

Although may be (don't remember exactly) the Normal migration is only possible if you have TIA portal "Professional" version. 

One more notice :

If an old STEP7 project contains a panel and if it is necessary to drag it into the new TIA portal project, then migration is only possible if WinCC Flex 2008 is installed on Engineering PC.

In case of using the "DeviceProxy_PLC" it’s not necessary to have WinCC Flex 2008 installed.
