How can I connect OSM with an ASGE2 (Star Coupler)?

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hi, OSM optical port supports only 100MBit. I don't know if there is an FDDI interface for ASGE available, but i don't think. So the only any really working connection will be via twisted pair cable. If the distance is too high you must place an additional device beside the ASGE and connect locally via electrical cable and then use optical cable for the longer distance. For this you can use a SCALANCE X101 type for example (OMC is not possible, because this device requires also 100 MBit on electrical port).

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, the ASGE is an phased out product. There is no 100MBit product any more available for this device. If you want speed up your network you have to replace the ASGE with new Switch like SCALANCE etc. Check the interface cards which are used in ASGE and check the port availability in SCALANCE products. There is an tool for switch selection available: SIMATIC NET Selection Tool and Configurator for Industrial Ethernet Switches and Industrial Wireless Communication
