How can i get a pulse in program?

Dear Experts,

I have CPU315 2PN/DP and SM321 DI modual. i want to use a Dual phase Incremental Transducer.

how can i get a pulse in program?? 

is there any special blocks in Simatic manager for it??

In COUNTER instruction is may not work, because it can not measure more then 999 counts.

i have tried to use it as single phase traducer, by ADD_R instruction. but it cannot work perfectly.

please help...

Thats important for the possible solution, because there are different commands available.

The hardware you have for the job is not the right selection.
(You have not been very specific on which you have.)
See the previous posts from the original thread.

Working in Step7 classic or Step7 under TIA does not change functionality - only how things are done because of the software interface differences.

Nowadays I prefer the S7-1200 for such jobs you describe..
when having to use Siemens hardware.
