How the addressing works on Step 7 and PCS7?

Hello experts!

This might be somewhat out of topic, but can you please tell me how the addressing works on Step 7 and PCS7? 

So for instance the DP Slave having 32 bytes consistent which has been addressed (in HWConfig) I 256 onwards which I want to put in DB1 would it be like (as the help function seems to tell):

LADDER: W#16#100 or IW256 (or are they the same?)

RECORD: P#DB1.dbx0,0 byte 32 ?

My actual situation is, I have to integrate a Schenck DP Slave and I'm sent a GSD file that has the name "DISOCONT MASTER (PCI)" which has 2 slots for input and output which both has same lenght (eg "Module 32 bytes consistent").
