How to check if a profibus node is reachable

Hello,

Here in our factory we have a profibus network with a certain amount of profibus nodes.

However not all the nodes are always active. (Tool shutdown)

I am looking for a way to prevent my PLC diagnostic buffer beeing spammed with I/O access errors.

Is there a possibility to check if a DP is reachable?

I was looking at FC3 DP_DIAG but the help file is insufficient for me to understand it.

I am looking into the PNIODIAG solution.

This in theory would allow me to auto-detect disappearing nodes and cut communications to them for as long as they are gone.
