How to communicate CPU 115U 945 with WinCC V6.0

DerJunge Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	Hallo we want to make a revision in our power plant. Our system is Cpu 115U 945 Cp 1430 TF connecting to OP 47 operator panel. And other I/O cards ... We want to use WinCC V6 instead of OP 47. So we can control and monitor the system from a desktop Pc. We don't want to change plc programming. we're going to continueusing our Cpu 115U 945. 1) which hardwares we should use for the plc and for the pc side? 2) which channel we should to use on the WinCC Scada side? 3) are there any configurations in the plc side? Iread that i can use CP 1413 card for the pc side. But this card is very old, running on ISAslot andsupported by Windows 9x and Win NT 4. I want to run wincc on a Windows XP operating system. So my question is; 1) Is there any alternative card for CP 1413? For example can i use CP 1613? Thanks a lot Der Junge

April Posts: 1776 Rating: (95)	Hi, indeed you can use CP 1613 for communication with Wincc you need the channel driver for S5. In the link below, it is written that we don't need to change Plc program, when we use PMC S5 Ethernet channels. http://www.industry.siemens.com/IT4Industry/EN/SOLUTION_SERVICES/SIMATIC_ADDONS/KANAL.HTM I've made research about PMC and understand that a PMC - WinCC communication is done with Send/Receive Interface and PMC blocks. Our system is working well with OP47 (Plc program don't have any problems i mean). But we'll use WinCC V6.0 instead of Op47. My question is: Will I make changes in the PLC program? Will I make any configuration at PMC Handling blocks? (FB205, FB206, FB207...) Best regards

Have you ever thought about the way the OP is communicating to the PLC yet? If so, what method has been used yet? Is it Send / Receive ... maybe with FETCH/WRITE? Is it TF? You mentioned that you do not want to change the PLC Program, am I right? So the best way would be to analyse what has been use so far and what has to be done to do the same with the WinCC System, am I right? So.. the question is, what is used till now? Before we discuss what has to be chosen to use in the future. The CP 1613 is not always the most useful solution. Best regardsJ_Bell

Because I send my Coros's *.s5l file toan expert in the hmi support department and he said me that the using communication is PMC. I also export my S5 programs Assigment list. There are PMC blocks called int S5 program.Now I'msure it is using PMC(I attached the assigment list and my systemsschematicyou can check it in the system.zip) Yes the easiest way is to use the same communication until now. About the CP1613: Our CP1430 TF card uses SinecH1 network (with PMC). It connected to the OP47 with an CP1413 card. We need to use the same card. But this card is too old and hard to find. Expert said that we can use Cp1613 instead of Cp1413. Now my question is same. Will I make any change in the Plc programing, especially in the PMC Handling channels? Thanks in advanced. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, as far as I know is the CP 1613 a good replacement and useable with most up to date PCs. The PMC Channel is surely useable with this card too. I would recomend to replace the Transceiver with the old drop cable 727-1 with Cross over ITP Cables, with these you can also reach up to 100 m as max distance, without any Transceiver. You can keep the Transceiver also... if you want to. I think if you make sure that the MAC Adresses of the CP 1413 and the CP 1613 will be the same you will not have to change a thing. The PLC will not even notice a change... besides some timing things that should not be a big thing. Best regards J_Bell
