Hi all,

I am responsible for managing automation system in my factory. The most is Siemens PLC S7 200, S7 300 and S7-400. But it has run 8 years for now. I want to make spare part list to replace them in case of breakdown.

I know that some of them were phased out and could be replaced by newer ones.

My question is how to know which PLCs phased out? it means that which tool can be done this request.

 You can always write the part number of the product you would like to check in the search field of product support and it will show you what we call Product Life, See attached picture.

The generalProductLifecycleManagement (PLM) describes all the lifecycle phases of a product.

We differentiate between core products/system components ( panels, connector boxes ) and the accessories of a product (memory cards, connectors,…).

While thecore products/system componentsrun through all the milestones, the milestones "Announcement of Product Phaseout" and "Product Cancellation"  are not used for the SIMATIC HMIaccessories.

This means that the SIMATIC HMIaccessoriesremain available during the complete lifecycle of the core products/system components and can be ordered on a normal basis.
This also means that theSIMATIC HMI products and accessoriestypically remain available for a period ofup to 22 years.

Description of the most important milestones for SIMATIC Panels

• Product Delivery Release (P.M 300)
  From this date on the product is available for delivery for up to 12 years, i.e. available for normal ordering. This is also the active selling phase.
• Announcement of Product Phaseout (P.M 400)
  This milestone is the beginning of the 10-year spare part commitment period. The product is still available as a new part, but the active selling phase has ended.
• ProductCancellation(end of production) (P.M 410)
  This milestone is the beginning of the spare part phase. With some exceptions the product is only available on spare part basis.
• Product Discontinuation (P.M 490)
  This milestone is the end of our 10-year spare part commitment period. The product is no longer available from us and the support is discontinued. This is also the end of the PLM of the SIMATIC HMI accessories for this product, which then cease to be available.

And the following method can be used in sites using smart mobile phones. But It won't be valid for old products comes without dot-matrix code.

You have to install Industry Online Support App from Google Play, App Store or Windows Store.

Then open the application and scan the dot matrix code printed on the product or write its part number, then it will open the PLM for the product as well as all related data.

Mohamed's link is exactly what you have to use to find the status of  your PLCs. His link is limited to France, and opens in French (or English, if you select the other Language available). If you open the Country link at the let of the page, you can open the Product Support for your country in your preferred language. Most countries are supported.

Then I suggest you enter a part number for your CPUs in the Site Explorer search box, and follow the path shown in the attached screenshots. this will show you the lifecycle status of your equipment, with successor part numbers when they are available.

Try the sequence once to get a feel for the search pattern in Product Support.
