I am fairly new to industrial automation. I am associated with few projects that involve PLC programming. I was wondering before you start programming what type of techniques or tips you guys use for structure your TIA program. I am more interested in How to crate a programs which are easier to understand by others as well(other automation or electrical engineers). And what are the good practices when creating FB's and sub routines ? any advise is appreciated. |

Let me add a golden rule which is often overlooked, unfortunately. Parts of machine that are identical or similar goes with multi-istance. If you have a plat with 2000 valves, do you plan to write the code to control it 2000 times or just once and multi instance it? So, identify the parts that can be written as an FB object (class) and find its variants for the actual and future projects. In this way you can easility re-use the code in future projects. Have fun!
