how to set up a datamonitor project

Dear Friend, I'm new in this subject, trought I have to develop a Datamonitor Project in WinCC V 7.0 sp2. I had read the getting started and installation notes about Datamonitor, but I don't know if is as simple that to install Datamonitor as server where is installed the WinCC monitoring the process, and install WinCC and Datamonitor in another computer with internet connections. I know about the licence that I have to purchase. I need to know if I have to install a firewall or another software for protect the systems or with the protection that have windows is enough.

I need to know how to implement the systems in an easy way.
